Three Mills Loop Walk

Bromley by Bow, Stratford etc, London. Sunday 18 Jan. 2009

Graffiti painters on the Hertford Union

The giant flowers are in a small park at the eastern end of Roman Road , Lefevre Park, opened in 2007

The site at left was a goods depot.

A listed pub in what was Bow High St

 The Bromley by Bow Centre
After the official walk had ended I spent a few minutes wandering around Three Mills Green before taking the train home

The new barrage across the Three Mills Wall River, needed for the new lock in the Prescott Channel

Abbey Mills sewage pumping station - new

and old

Memorial to worked killed in an accident in a well - more on this here

The Prescott Channel (right) leaves the Three Mills wall river.
It was built as a flood relief scheme but probably largely to provide work in the 1930s

Little is visible of the new Prescott Lock - which may now never actually be used for barge traffic, although this was an important part of the London bid
