Cyclists Protest Olympic Towpath Closure

Leyton Marsh & Lea Navigation, London. Sunday 22 Jul 2012


 
 A group of marchers gathered by the 'temporary' basketball facility on Leyton Marsh

 t-shirts with 5 barbed wire rings

 Save Leyton Marsh banner and exhausted dog in front of the 'temporary' basketball facility

 

 The marchers (and cyclists) set off for the towpath closure at Eastway

 

 The path diversion is for a new bridge

 
 
The protesters make their way along the towpath 

past the boats at the expensive Olympic moorings which have replaced the normal boats here 

but navigation on the canal is blocked at Eastway 

 

The protesters come under the Eas Cross route and Eastway tway to join the group waiting there 

fence, notice, secuirty men and security cabin at the start of the blocked section of towpath
