Weybridge Walk

Weybridge, Surrey. Mon 18 Sep 2012

The Weybridge viaduct on the London & Southampton Railway was built around 1837 and goes over the River Wey

The River Wey just to the north of Brooklands

Invasive Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) is a colourful and attractive weed, but speads

There are several areas of disused gravel workings around the area

Coxes Lock Mill, Addlestone

There was an iron mill here from 1777 - 1832, when it was rebuilt as a corn and silk mill. The larger buildings.

on the site date from the early years of the twentieth century Flour milling stopped in 1983 and the buildings.

were converted to residential in 1989. While the mill was in use, sailing barges used to come up the Thames

and then up the Wey Navigation to it.
