Easter in Staines

Staines, Middx. Sun 31 Mar 2013

The Thames was pretty still

Easter Morning open air service

Sweeps Ditch used to flow from here

After the line into the disused Staines West station was broken by the M25, the traffic into the oil terminal
took this spur from the Windsor line

Some of the old track on the line into Staines West remains, including the points visible (just) in the undergrowth
The aqueduct carries water from the Thames to various reservoirs - all the way to Hampton

The Herdsman's Cottage for Staines Moor

The aqueduct again

And the Wyradisbury River at Moor Lane

Next to the bypass

The new bridge at Bell Weir built when the M25 crossing was added to the bypass

Waterworks

Staines Bridge defiled by one of the ugliest blocks of flats along the whole of the Thames

The Swan Hotel, Egham Hythe seen from Staines

Timm's boatyard across the river,

Fuji autofocus was perhaps just a little too slow for these swans
