Thames Path: Shifford to Buscot

Hinton Waldrist - Buscot, Oxfordshire. Tue 2 Apr 2013

 Hinton Waldrist

The church at Hinton Waldrist was locked

The empty house where we turned off the lane into the footpath

The ford at Duxford is marked by these posts, with rather deep water swirling fast round them

so we walked along the riverside path, with a few deviations where it had fallen into the river

it would have been easier to walk along the field boundary above in places

The view downstream from the footbridge where we joined the Thames path

And the Thames path after we had crossed the Shifford cut

with occasional hexagonal pill boxes

and trees

It was a beautiful day, though only a little above freezing and winter rather than spring.
