Pro-Assad protesters. The Al-Nusra Front or Jabhat al-Nusra, an Al Qaida associate, is part of the Syrian opposition, declared a terrorist group by the US in December 2012 The pro-Assad protesters were directed to a police pen a few yards to the north. I'd meant to photograph them before I left Grosvenor Square, but was diverted by the arrival of the Muslim group, and when I had finished taking pictures of them had to run not to miss the Tamil march. |
