 Twickenham Bridge

 Richmond Lock and bridge

Obelisk in Old Deer Park. There are a number associated with a former Royal observatory.

They mark the Richmond Meridian of 1769, the first used to set London time.

Richmond lock from the bridge, with Isleworth in the distance

There are two footways across the river, the upstream one is closed.

From the Isleworth bank, with boat rollers

Gordon House, sold by Brunel University to developers Octagon in 2003

 Isleworth Ait

Isleworth House renamed Nazareth House in 1892 when The Sisters of Nazareth moved in. It was sold in 2013
for development for luxury housing. The white house was built for Sir William Cooper, chaplain to George III.

 Now called Fitzroy Place

The former Blue School in Isleworth. The school began in 1630 and several local schools still exist which came from it

You can walk across to Isleworth Ait at low tide, though it is almost 60 years since I last did

 Modern riverside developments at Isleworth

Cathja houses a mental health charity, Friedns of Cathja

Isleworth riverside seen from the 'garden' of the ugly modern Town Wharf pub

 The Duke of Northumberland's River

There was a huge water-powered flour mill here in Isleworth

Downstream view from close to the London Apprentice

The London Apprentice - a famous pub that has gone rather up-market from its past

In the gardens of Syon House - now apparently private housing

Syon House Lodges and the house at right

Brentford Gauging Lock - where tolls could be calculated and charged
