Class War and ASH posters about housing

The O J SImpson Prize is awarded annually by ASH

ASH's Simon Elmer photographs part of their display

Geraldine Dening of ASH contemplates the map showing social cleansing of council estates in London

The estates are marked on the map with coloured pins - the majority of them red for Labour councils

who govern most of London and are doing most of the social cleansing of council estates

Alternative plans for various estates that show how regeneration could take place without social cleansing - but

this wouldn't get councillors lavish hospitality, trips to Cannes and well paid jobs when they leave the councils

Central Hill estate near Crystal Palace is superb planning and architecture and in fine structural condition. It should
be Grade II listed but was turned down - possibly becuase of pressure from the developers who stand to make a

killing, particularly because of its fine position on a hillside with views across the city.

Some of the threatened estates took part in Open Gardens Day last year

Some questions relevant to estate generation were on the wall

Class War banner reflects the important role they have played in bringing housing issues into public debate
particularly through their 'Poor Doors' series of protests at Aldgate

Social cleansing: RED for Labour, BLUE for Tory and YELLOW for Lib-Dem.
