No Faith in War DSEI Arms Fair protest

ExCeL Centre, London. Tue 5 Sep 2017



 

 Various faith groups were present including Quakers, Catholics and several Buddhists

 'British Arms Kill Children'

 Pax Christi 'Stop the wars Stop the Arms Trade'

 'No Faith in War' was a series of events organised by various faith groups

 Police talk to a Quaker protesters sitting on the road to block arms going into the show

 

 

 'Quakers Against the Arms Trade' banner

 Quakers hold a meeting beside the road while others are sitting to block it

 

 'Quaker Concern for the Abolition of Torture'

 Oxford Catholic Worker banner 'Say No to War'

 Police carry one of the protesters off from the road

 and deposit her gently on the grass

 another is arrested and led away to a waiting police van. Around his neck is the message 'Overcome the evil of

 Arms Sales with non-violent action for a just and sustainable future'

 'Weapons Are Not the Answer'

 'DSEI: Shame On Our Nation'

 

 

 

 Police talk with Quakers who are blocking the road

 'What LOVE requires of us'

 Another Quaker is led to a police van

 

 Four protesters abseil down a bridge on rope ladders to hang above the road
  'DSEI is state terrorisim #StopDSEI'

 

 Police watch - and have to call out a specialist unit to safely remove the protesters

  'Theresa May who would Jesus sanction, starve and then blow to pieces? #Stop DSEI'

 Other protesters come to watch and give support - with a banner 'Thou shalt not kill = PEACE'
